Where Anything is Possible!
Electronics and Reef related projects from the workbench of BeanAnimal. The projects presented here range in complexity from the very simple to the rather complex.
A silent and fail-safe aquarium overflow system based on the "coast-to-coast" or "Calfo" style of overflow box. This design makes the Durso and Stockman style of standpipes obsolete! No noise, no adjustment, no floods. It is truly a set and forget setup.
A no nonsense DIY 55 gallon high flow acrylic aquarium sump project utlizing 1/2" cell cast acrylic. The sump has a 40 gallon operating capacity with 10+ gallons of room for backflow during power outages. There is plenty of room for a DSB or live rock.
A DIY 6 foot tall, 6" diameter clear PVC needle wheel protein skimmer based on the Aqua-Medic Ocean Runner 3700 pump. This project documents the basic build process and functional details of the skimmer.
A simple to construct feeding timer based on the 555 timer IC. The project can be constructed on a PCB or perfboard and only uses a handful of easy to find parts that are available at Radio Shack.
